Everyone is encouraged to attend a short church business meeting on Sunday, February 24, immediately following the chili cookoff. You do not need to be a church member to attend. The congregation may present names for consideration to fill open board positions.
Recommendation forms for elders, deacons, and board positions are at the Welcome Center. Please return completed forms to an elder or the church office before the February 24 meeting.
Each year FBC sponsors a chili (soup) cook-off. This event is held each year to raise awareness of FBC’s work on the mission field.
Who attends and what does it cost? … Everyone is invited, and it’s FREE! Free-will offerings are accepted and go to support our short-term summer missions programs.
How does the cook-off work? … You’ll need to sign up at the Welcome Center. Just write down your name and indicate whether you’ll bring some type of chili or soup. Your entry does not have to be hot and spicy — it can be plain (like tomato soup), it can be sweet and dessert-like or whatever you want! Then you’ll want to decide on how to best display your chili. Your display can be as simple or as elaborate as you want.
What if we just want to attend but not enter the cook-off? … That’s cool! There will be food available. You can also roam around the fellowship hall and sample each variety of soup and chili.
