AWANA is a weekly kids club that teaches children Biblical truths, facilitates Bible memorization and provides time for group games for children on K-5th grade. It is a ministry of AWANA Clubs International, a global organization that provides curriculum and training for churches to do effective children’s ministry. It’s goal is to introduce kids to Jesus Christ and build a Biblical foundation for faith.

FBC AWANA club meets from 6:15 to 8:00 pm at the gym on Wednesday nights throughout the school year.  It starts in September and ends in April . The kids club is divided into three age groups at FBC: Cubbies (potty trained 3 year olds - pre-K), Sparks (K-2nd grade), and T&T (3-5th grade). The groups rotate between activities: singing, working through a handbook where they memorize Bible verses, playing games, and listening to a lesson. If you have any questions about Awana, would like to come check it out, or enroll your child, you can call or text the Awana commanders, Matthew and Red Peterson at 815-757-1861.

Little ones are precious to us! We believe that even the very youngest child can learn to love God, whether in the welcoming arms of a volunteer in the nursery or while having a Jesus tea party in the toddler room. Nursery care is available during the worship service.

Kids Church takes place during the 10:30 Sunday service and is designed for children in Grades K thru 5. The children begin by joining with the church family in the praise portion of the 10:30 service. They will be dismissed prior to the message to the Kids Church room. The children engage in Bible stories, videos, crafts, and games that bring home the Bible Point of the week. Check out the pictures below to see some of our fun Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, AWANA, and family activities!

Our Middle School and High School youth join with the church family in worship on Sunday mornings. See below for more information on youth group meetings.

Middle School Youth Group meets together on Wednesdays (September thru April) at 6:30pm for games, fellowship, a message, and prayer. Other annual Events include See You at the Pole, BREAKAWAY (outreach), EQUIP (evangelism training) and an annual youth outing with the High School Youth Group to White Pines (fellowship).

High School Youth Group meets throughout the year on Thursdays at 7:00pm for fellowship and time in the Word and prayer. We encourage our students to go deeper in God's Word and with one another, in a safe setting that encourages them to discover who they are as individuals in God's Kingdom. The High School Youth Group also has opportunities for special events and retreats, such as Snow Camp, See You at the Pole, and others.
